It's a part of life and how we raise our kids that we remind them to be tidy, to take care, not to damage property, teach them to color in the lines, don't tear pages or write in books. These are all valuable lesson for life but at the same time they can stifle a creative mind.
The 'Wreck This Journal' can be an outlet. This is not a free for all, to say destroy every book you own. Here is just one book where you are instructed to be 'destructive' in a creative way.
Each page gives directions to think outside the box. Kids are encouraged to poke holes in the pages, mess something up and fix it again, to color outside the lines, to drop the book from somewhere high, to glue pages together, the rip them apart and to get it wet.
And really, the most genius writers, artists, composers, are the ones who stepped outside of the box to look at life in a new way.
