There are so many fascinating pictures of food carvings out there and I was looking for something to make a normal lunch or dinner a bit more special. But let’s be honest, no one has the time or talent to create works of art out of a watermelon.
That’s why I proudly present 5 very quick and easy ways to pimp your child’s lunch with cucumber.
30 seceonds-snake: Simply 3 slices of cucumber in halves and a tongue and eyes made of carrot and a smiling snake is slithering over the plate.
1 minute snail: With just one slice and two sticks of cucumber, some cream cheese, small balls of bread and two green onions as horns you can create a nice little snack.
2 min hearts: Use cutters for little hearts or stars to quickly create this healthy side dish.
3 min whale: This needs a little more talent in the carving area. Cut the end of a cucumber in a ° angle. Take a small knife to carve the lines of the eye and the belly, then peel the skin from these areas. Don’t forget to leave a bit of the skin as a fin.
On the back, add a dorsal fin as sown on the picture.
And then let Willy free to swim around your child’s sandwich.
5 min owl and tree: This being a picture-plate you can tell whole stories with, it takes some more time to prepare. The corners of the sandwich become the owls wings. This meal includes everything your kid needs – plenty of vitamins and fun with healthy food.
