In the 1900 London marathon, there was a runner who raced while holding an uncooked egg on a dessert spoon. He finished in 3 hours and 47 minutes. As you can see, the egg on a spoon race has a mighty history. So with the spring weather and all the eggs your kids will be collecting from the Easter Bunny, why not take this classic spin for your own Easter celebration?
Have your kids line up with the egg on their spoon and at Go, race to the finish while balancing their egg. For even more excitement, assign teams and have a relay back and forth or have your contestants carry the spoon in their mouth.
I would recommend hard boiling your eggs first but if you just can't stand the idea of losing any to the ground, here's a very kid friendly version.
