I remember in school that geometry was one of the less boring math classes for me. Something about shapes just seemed so much more practical in everyday life. But this is one thing that might have really taken it off the ground for me back then. Making shapes with grapes.
All you need are grapes and toothpicks to build your structures. We started out with a few traditional shapes like cubes and pyramids but also tossed in some free thinking structures like the car on the bottom right (if you use your imagination.)
This was so fun and super easy even for younger kids learning about squares and triangles. We built a simple house too but by the end of the grape pile we were just letting our creativity fly with some abstract art designs.
The best part is that you can eat your shapes when you're finished! Juicy and delicious!
