Once upon a time, there was a little girl who celebrated her 4th birthday. She and her lucky sister both got beautiful princess dresses. They loved everything about them - dancing around with swinging petticoats, gracefully waving their hands just like Royals and above all, being treated like real Princesses.
The purple and pink dress was the actual birthday gift for the birthday girl. But having two girls roughly the same age also means that they always want what the other one has, so the little one got her blue dress to keep everybody cheerful. It was great to see the girls so effusively happy and having tons of fun. They twirled faster than the camera could catch it and ended their pirouettes with a lovely hug. (It was one of those moments when you try to catch the perfect memory - something to show them when they are all grown up.)
A dress like this is not just every little girls dream (I realized I was kind of jealous too 😉 ), it is also the perfect opportunity to play dress up. My niece now loves to play out the whole story of Cinderella - with every tiny detail she remembers. The best part is of course, when she gets the dress and dances with the Prince at the big ball (Her Prince Charming is still her Dad).
After the big birthday ball, the tiny Royals were a little tired, so the Queen ordered one of her loyal subjects to read her a story.
Her eyelids got heavier and heavier throughout the story. Seems like Princesses are humans after all.
A week went by and the tiny Royals decided that they needed more sparkles and glamour in their lives so they wished for a good fairy to magically pimp their crowns.
But fairies aren't what they used to be, so all they got was a wooden box with a selection of the finest crown jewels and the task to design their own crowns. If you want something done right, do it yourself, so the modern princesses chose their favorite diamonds and got started.
They glued the colorful gemstones to their crowns ...
.... and were super happy with the results. They danced around with their dresses and crowns and lived happily ever after.
