Here is a recipe for ‘Kinderpunsch,’ a German punch for children that’s especially delicious on a cold day to make you toasty from the inside out. Whether celebrating Advent, Christmas, going to a parade or festival or just spending time outside on a frosty winter day, your kids will be excited to try this warm drink.
Who hasn’t stood outside in the cold at a parade or other holiday event and wished for anything to make them warm again. Rather than hot chocolate or hot apple cider, try this recipe instead!
Bring on the feeling that you’re celebrating the old German traditions of St. Nicholas and classic Christmas Markets with mulled wine for adults and non alcoholic ‘Kinderpunsch’ for the kids.
This recipe is great for any occasion whether at home, school, work, festivals, outdoor markets or parades.
So get ready to mix your ingredients with this yummy punch!
Kinderpunsch
Ingredients:
2 qt. of fruit juice, ex. orange, apple or cherry (mixing them is even better!)
1 T. honey
1/2 t. cinnamon
2 T. lemon juice
Preparation:
Pour your juice into a pot and heat slowly.
When it starts to boil, take it off the stove and add the rest of the ingredients.
Let it sit for 5 minutes.
Kinderpunsch also tastes delicious with gingerbread...
