With the weather outside getting warmer, I've been more inspired to find fun ways for kids to stay outside. Sidewalk chalk is a go-to for summer fun. All you need is some blacktop and color for your kids to create a masterpiece. And when it rains you have a fresh canvas to start over. 
I found a few other ideas to use with chalk.
Create a funny backdrop and your kids can pose as superhero's or dance in the rain without getting wet.
Use the chance to stage an appreciative holiday photo for family. Whether for a birthday or just a random opportunity to show you care, your loved ones will certainly appreciate the sweet gesture.
Make a giant checkerboard and see if your kids skills hold up in the large scale.
Instead of regular hop scotch, choose some high action commands for your kids to make their way through and get the wiggles out.
The buildings on fire! Have your kids practice their firefighting skills and stop the flames. Water games are perfect for a really hot day.
Help your little ones learn colors and shapes by having them hop to the right one when you call it out.
Have your kids go on a nature adventure collecting their specimens in the properly labeled circles.
