Who doesn't love the first snow when it's so pretty and clean? I love it...at first. But after a few days of dreary weather, freezing temperatures, gray clouds and slush on the streets I get a little tired of it. Why not bring a little excitement to the outside and make the white snow shine with color?
Here are just some glow sticks buried in the snow to make a rainbow path. It looks like the Northern Lights to me!
Freeze colored water in balloons to make these giant ice marbles. Fun for rolling around or just a cheerful decoration.
Food coloring is your friend here. Either bring the snow inside for a sensory box with paint brushes or take the colors outside in spray bottles. Doesn't the snow woman look lovely?
Make colored cubes to build towers with in the cold or freeze them onto strings to make hanging outdoor ornaments.
If you're really committed, especially if the cold lasts along time for you, consider building an igloo. Just collect a whole bunch of milk cartons, fill them with colored water, freeze them outside and get building!
