Who doesn't love a good story? Kids are almost always ready for a funny tale or exciting adventure. But sometimes when it comes to inventing one of their own, it can be tough to get started. Story stones can help with that.
I saw this idea and couldn't wait to make some of our own.
First we had to go around town looking for flat stones that were big enough to handle my limited painting skills.
Then we painted a rough outline of the images in white so the colors would show up brighter. We used basic acrylic paint from the craft store and it held up pretty well.
The top coat was really fun to envision!
Story stones can be used in a group of kids with each one picking one randomly for themselves. The story progresses with each kid and builds based on the stone they have. Imagination is highly encouraged!
