Here is an easy, fun and super cute way for your kids to send lovely greetings to their Valentines. All you need is LOVE ….and colorful paper, lollipops, scissors, pens and some sticky tape.
Have your kids choose their favorite color for the butterfly and then have them fold the sheet once. Roughly sketch one side of the wings to make the cutting easier. Older kids can sketch their own pair of wings, younger kids might need a little help with that. Just make sure that the wings match the size of your lollies.
Then the children should mark the points where the lollipop goes through. They should have about one centimeter space between them.
Then carefully cut them in, not too deep, not too small.
Let your kids try if the lolly fits through the wholes they just cut.
After the cutting comes the creative part. Have your kids decorate the butterfly however they like it. Use pens, glitter, stamps or anything they can think of. They can also add special greetings. Younger children who don’t know how to write, might want to draw something on the wings.
These are two examples of what I did.
To add the antennae simply roll the paper around a pen and pin them to the lolly with some sticky tape.
This can be a last minute Valentine’s craft or a sweet Birthday card for a friend.
After just half an hour, the cute little butterflies can flap their wings to deliver the sweet greetings.
Enjoy the crafting with your kids and Happy Valentine’s Day!
